Working at BTA
Who you’d be joining
Better Tuition Academy has been tutoring since 2015, and we now guide hundreds of students each week. We specialise in one-on-one tutoring for students from Years 3 to 12.
As we have grown, we have expanded to eight academies across five locations on the Northern Beaches and North Shore. You would teach at the one nearest you, alongside tutors who are doing the same subjects and year levels.
BTA is always looking for new tutors to join our team of more than 80. It is our tutors who have shaped the academy.

What makes the ideal BTA candidate
There is no single profile. These are the four things we actually look for.
Experience is welcome, not required
We often hire people who are new to tutoring. You are trained thoroughly before you teach your first lesson, because we are known for the quality of our tutoring and preparation is what makes that possible.
Strong academics, or deep subject knowledge
Being a strong academic performer is a valuable asset. So is specialising in one subject - particularly an HSC course - and knowing it inside out.
The person, not the template
We embrace diversity in our workplace and value what each team member brings. Tutoring is a relationship before it is a transaction, and personality is part of the job.
A paid Working with Children Check
You will need a current paid NSW Working with Children Check before your first lesson - the employee check, not the volunteer one - and we verify it. If you do not have one yet, apply anyway and tell us; it is straightforward to get and we will talk you through it.
