These policies are designed to protect your child’s learning routine, give your family helpful flexibility, and ensure our tutors can deliver the highest-quality educational experience every week.

Below is a simple, at-a-glance overview of the most important things to know. 

Cancellations & Rescheduling
— Flexible and Fair 

We know families are busy, so our policy balances flexibility with consistent learning for your child.
 

✔ More than 48 hours' notice 
No charge — and no loss of your lesson credit.
 

✔ One free late cancellation each term (Package Benefit) 
Your package includes one complimentary cancellation (2–48 hours before the lesson) to give you peace of mind when unexpected things come up.
 

✔ After using the free cancellation (Package Clients) 
Cancellations 2–48 hours before the lesson can be rescheduled within 7 days, helping your child stay on track without extra fees.
 

✔ Fortnightly Billing Clients 
A $20 late cancellation fee applies for 2–48 hour cancellations, or you can reschedule within 7 days instead.
 

✔ Within 2 hours / No-shows 
Full lesson fee applies, as the tutor has already reserved and prepared for the lesson.
 

✔ Emergency flexibility 
For genuine emergencies (illness, accidents, etc.), we can waive or reduce fees at our discretion.
 

Benefit to families: You get flexibility when needed, while still protecting a
consistent weekly learning routine for your child.

Lesson Packages (Most Popular) – Introduced 2026

Families choose packages because they offer the best value and most stability.

Price Lock Guarantee — your rate stays the same term after term

• 12-month lesson credit rollover 
• Strategy & results calls every 8 lessons 
• One upfront invoice instead of frequent billing 
• Stronger long-term progress through consistency

Fortnightly Billing

• Pay-as-you-go flexibility (billed every second Tuesday) 
• No package discount or price lock

Benefit to families: Packages give you lower pricing, consistent learning, and predictable costs. Fortnightly billing provides maximum flexibility.

In-Home Lessons
- Safe, Professional and Structured

•  A parent/guardian must be present (for under 16s) 
•  Lessons must take place in a visible, shared space 
•  If no adult is present → 10-minute wait → full fee applies 

 

Benefit to families: 
Your child learns in a safe, supervised environment at all times

Online Lessons
- Easy Access & High Engagement

•  Delivered via Microsoft Teams (no app download needed) 
•  Cameras must be on for learning quality and safety 
•  Students join from a suitable workspace 
•  Lessons are recorded for safety, training, and support (stored 60 days)

Online lessons are convenient, engaging, and protected by strong safety standards.

Conduct & Expectations
- Supporting a Positive Learning Experience 

Students:

Be prepared, respectful, and engaged.

Parents: 

Ensure a suitable environment and communicate through BTA Operations.

If challenges arise, we work with you through a supportive Behaviour Plan.

Updates to these Policies

Better Tuition Academy (BTA) may update these Policies from time to time to improve service quality, reflect operational changes, or meet legal and regulatory requirements.
 

BTA will notify families of any significant changes through email, SMS, or the Parent Portal. The most current version of these Policies will always be made available by BTA and will apply to all ongoing lessons and enrolments. 
 

By continuing with BTA’s services after any updates are communicated, families agree to be bound by the revised Policies.
