More than 80 tutors across eight academies in five locations - trained, mentored and matched to the student they teach.
We place an importance on continual learning, training and personal & professional development, so the quality of a lesson never depends on which tutor you happen to get.
Every BTA tutor holds a current paid NSW Working with Children Check - the employee check, not the volunteer one - and we verify every check ourselves before a tutor takes their first lesson.
Every tutor completes our Onboarding and Induction Program - child safety, communication, organisation, note-taking, teaching strategy, and proven approaches for neurodiverse learners - before they sit down with a student.
Tutors work through ongoing training, assessments, certifications and learning modules. Professional development is a condition of tutoring at BTA, not an optional extra.
Tutors are drawn from three tiers and matched on year level, subject and learning style. That match is covered by our Right Tutor Guarantee. If the first tutor match isn't right and you tell us within your first three lessons, we keep tutoring free until it is. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

My daughters tutor Alana has helped her a lot with not only Maths and English but also study skills, essay writing and has boosted her confidence and positive attitude to learning.

Why we publish
Our tutors write for their own lessons: a breakdown of a set text, a maths paper pitched at one year group, the explanation that finally landed with a student on a Tuesday afternoon. Rather than leave that in a folder at one academy, we publish it.
The English half is free and has been for years: more than 250 guides, most of them for the HSC, and you do not have to be a BTA student to open one. No account, no email address, no payment.
It is not a sideline either. These are the same pages our tutors build lessons from, which is why they are specific about a text or a module rather than general advice about how to study.
