Better Tuition Academy

One-on-one Tutoring in Narrabeen

Tutoring in Narrabeen with Better Tuition Academy At your nearest academy, online or at home.

Tutoring for Narrabeen families, 10 minutes from our Mona Vale academy

Narrabeen is around 10 minutes from BTA Mona Vale. With Narrabeen Sports High in the suburb, we work with a lot of students here who are balancing a training schedule against an assessment one, which is usually what decides when their lesson runs.

We tutor Years 3 to 12 one-on-one across maths, English and HSC subjects, with separate preparation tracks for NAPLAN, the Opportunity Class test, the selective test and scholarship exams.

Lessons run at the academy, online, or at home for the same hourly rate, and families switch between them as the term gets busier. There is no lock-in contract to renegotiate when they do.

Services we offer

Years 3 - 6 Maths

Primary School Maths

One-on-one support for number and place value, fractions, multiplication, early algebra, measurement, and geometry. BTA tutors build strong foundations before high school and prepare students for NAPLAN with targeted practice in the key testing areas.

Years 7 - 10 Maths

High School Maths

As maths expands into algebra, trigonometry, statistics, and probability, gaps compound quickly. BTA tutors identify exactly where understanding has broken down and rebuild from there, keeping students on pace with their class and ahead of the curve for senior years.

Years 11 - 12 English

HSC English

BTA supports HSC Standard English, Advanced English, Extension 1, and Extension 2. Sessions cover close study of prescribed texts, essay technique, creative writing for the Common Module, and exam preparation.

Why families choose us

Why families choose BTA in Narrabeen

Narrabeen Lakes Public and Narrabeen Sports High are the schools we tutor students from most often. For students on a sport programme the constraint is rarely the work itself, it is finding a session time that survives the training week.

A Student Success Manager keeps track of progress and stays in contact, and the Right Tutor Guarantee sits behind the match. If the first tutor match isn't right and you tell us within your first three lessons, we keep tutoring free until it is. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

However it suits you

My daughters tutor Alana has helped her a lot with not only Maths and English but also study skills, essay writing and has boosted her confidence and positive attitude to learning.

My tutor, Markus, was extremely helpful and supportive throughout my HSC year, and helped me to both improve my overall physics marks and general exam techniques. He was very flexible and able to add additional sessions in when I needed them. I would definitely recommend doing tutoring at BTA.

Both of my high school aged children went through BTA for different subjects during their HSC. We used several different tutors over the years and they were all fantastic, so professional and friendly. The Management staff always respond quickly and are beyond helpful. Couldn't ask for better.

Alex is an amazing maths tutor who has helped my daughter build real confidence in her abilities. He is incredibly patient, encouraging, and creates a positive learning environment that she genuinely looks forward to each week. We've already noticed clear progress in her everyday maths skills and understanding. Highly recommend Alex to any parent looking for supportive and effective tutoring.

As [a] grandmother, I'm very appreciative of the individual tuition that Lily Hamilton has been giving to [my grandson]. He is responding well, and the one-to-one certainly helps his focus and motivation. Lily's skills in getting his attention with topics that interests him, and patient encouragement, as well as the positive style of teaching is wonderful in helping [my grandson] to progress. Thank you to Lily and BTA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why we publish

We give a lot of it away

Our tutors write for their own lessons: a breakdown of a set text, a maths paper pitched at one year group, the explanation that finally landed with a student on a Tuesday afternoon. Rather than leave that in a folder at one academy, we publish it.

The English half is free and has been for years. Around 15,000 students a year use those guides, most of them sitting the HSC, and you do not have to be a BTA student to open one. No account, no email address, no payment.

It is not a sideline either. These are the same pages our tutors build lessons from, which is why they are specific about a text or a module rather than general advice about how to study.
